What is the minimum NEET score to get MBBS in a government college? ▼
For government MBBS in India, a score of 550+ (UR) is generally required for AIQ seats in top government colleges. State quota seats may be available at 450–550 depending on the state. OBC candidates need approximately 450–520, and SC/ST candidates may get admission at lower scores through reserved quotas. The exact cut-off varies each year based on the number of qualified candidates and available seats.
Can I get MBBS without a domicile certificate in state counselling? ▼
For state quota seats (85%), a domicile / nativity certificate is usually mandatory in most states including Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, UP, and others. However, the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) is open to candidates from any state. Our counsellors help you identify states where domicile rules are more flexible or where you might qualify under special categories.
What is management quota and how does it work? ▼
Management quota refers to seats in private medical colleges (typically 15–25% of total seats) that are filled directly by the institution at a higher fee — separate from state or AIQ counselling. NEET qualification is mandatory, but the cut-off is generally lower than state quota. Fees range from ₹8 to ₹25 lakhs per year. Is MBBS abroad (Russia, Philippines etc.) a good option? ▼
MBBS abroad is a viable option for students with NEET scores 300–480 who cannot secure a seat in India. NMC-approved universities in Russia, Philippines, Uzbekistan, and Bangladesh offer quality education at lower costs. However, graduates must clear the FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination) / NExT to practice in India, which has a ~20–25% pass rate. We guide you in selecting only NMC-approved colleges and recommend parallel FMGE preparation from Year 1.
How many rounds of counselling are there in AIQ (MCC)? ▼
MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) conducts AIQ counselling in multiple rounds: Round 1, Round 2, and a Mop-Up Round, followed by a Stray Vacancy Round. Each round involves registration, choice filling, seat allotment, and reporting. Students can participate in multiple rounds if they don't get their preferred college.
